[NPInfo] NPI

As Dena had said, it stands for National Provider Identifier. It will soon replace other identifying numbers for Medicare for all aspects of billing. It will become like your social security number. I now have one as an individual and a clinic or "group" NPI. So then if other NPs come to work at my clinic, the billing will be done under the group NPI, which is attached to the Tax ID number for the clinic, and then if it is a Medicare patient, it is also attached with the Medicare's billing number for that individual or clinic. Medicare especially is complicated. Carla

I would appreciate is someone could give me info on the NPI number.
Do we apply or our workplace?
Any info or a site would be great, concerning this issue.

Thanks in advance,
Margie FNP
