It certainly wasn't meant to be a nasty reply at all... Sorry I didn't put
the little happy faces in it to signify that it wasn't. I WAS surprised that
as long as you had been on this list that you had not bee exposed to this
thread at least once as it is a common discussion and argument.
And, no, you still don't realize that there are programs where one can go
into a NP program with NO nursing education, background, or experience.
Unbelievable but true. The BSN and NCLEX are accomplished WHILE one is in
the expanded 3 yr MSN program. Students may have to take their pre-req
science courses but NO nursing courses are required to get accepted.

Good grief, Dena, did you have to post an email like that before rereading
it to see if it was a nasty reply, which it was? You didn't need to jump
down
my throat for asking a question.
I KNOW what an NP is and can do. I was just asking if PAs can do all the
same things an NP can. Looking on a PA website does not describe the
difference
between the 2.
Also, I have seen at least a hundred college NP programs' websites and they
all require nursing work experience when you already have your RN
training-yes, I have read the requirements to apply. If someone has a
non-nursing BS or
BA, there are prerequisite courses one must take to gain nursing clinical
and
classroom experience first.
