That would be interesting, my mom is on Lipitor. I have had indirect
contact with a patient recently (not mine) that was put on Lipitor, had been
on it a couple years, and then 10 months ago, developed profound muscle
weakness. Her liver enzymes shot up, and 10 months after stopping the
Lipitor, she still has muscle weakness and fatigue and all her enzymes
remain up. Including her cardiac enzymes are very very high. It has changed
her life forever. Her liver biopsy does not show anything conclusive, but
she still has the profound fatigue, and difficulty getting out of a
chair..Carla

am not sure about other statins) can cause memory impairment, and that most
docs begin thinking dementia first. I noticed that our LTC residents are not
on any statins. I plan to ask the doc on tues if the memory impairment issue
is the reason, it'll be interesting to hear his take on this.

review article recently in the Journal of the American College of
Cardiologists on statins. He was going to give me a copy of it and the
editorial that went with it. I'll bug him for it tomorrow and let you know
what I learn.
