[NPInfo] off topic-home invasion

Dear D and Gina--
Do you sleep with your loaded weapons to protect yourselves from each
other??? Certainly sheds a new light on reasons for never going to bed
angry, doesn't it? LOL Exactly who are you afraid of... and better
question-- WHY???
As a former Captain in the Army Reserves, I couldn't fire a weapon if my
life (or anyone else's for that matter) depended on it. Never did hit a
target when we had to qualify. A gun in MY hands would probably be more
detrimental to me than one in the hands of an intruder.

Oh, by the way....
We, CalifNP et al, are a home of 'Veterans' (both of us are Army & 'the
male' in the house- Law Enforcement prior/Corrections & Army vet.) & sleep
with two (2) Model 1911A's each with 10 round extended magazines under our
bed, a Kel-Lite by the bed (& multiple other firearms in a ready armed
condition) as well as exercising the CA CCW (concealed weapon carry
permit) - which may all sound more than a little PTSD/paranoid/wacko/etc.
but..... So, neither of us has any qualms about sending any bad guy(s) to
meet his maker earlier than he wishes if the circumstance warrants it. All
I meant to say is that if you are not ready to use a
handgun/shotgun/whatever in a decisive and deliberately lethal manner,
knowing what & why you are taking this violent action which may end the life
of another person (the 'critter' in this instance) then you may be safer
with a home without loaded firearms. Killing another deliberately, even if
they may deserve it, and even if you literally have no choice is not
something to be cavalier about, nor is it something that any of us would do
without a great deal of forethought & likely remorse later even if 100%
justified.
Happy Hunting (P.S. - guns are for shooting people, not defenseless animals)
