I’ve been asked to post this for GA folks. Any answers? I’ll forward them
to the appropriate party.
Thanks,

<SNIP> Maybe you can answer the following, the administation office @ the
Georgia Medical Board doesn't seem to know:
I have researched the laws provided by Lexis Nexis and the GA Medical Board
concerning the use of Nurse Practitioners in Georgia. However, I am unable
to locate the law for the specific usage of NPs on initial consultations and
injection of dermal fillers (Botox, Juvederm, Restylane..etc..). My
questions are as follows:
1. Is the patient required to see the Physician for the initial visit or can
the patient see the NP only?
2. Once a patient is established and is regularly receiving injections, is
the physician required to follow up with the patient at 3 or 6 month
intervals? Or can the NP monitor the patient soley?
3. At what point, if at any time, is the Physician required to monitor
patients receiving the described injectibles?
4. What paperwork is needed for our records to show compliance to the laws
governing the practice?
Do you know where I can find such resources?
Thanks,
(NP from GA, name withheld per her request)
