[NPInfo] incident to questions

Here is that reference to the update by Carolyn Buppert, Susan Yox put onto Medscape. She sent it to NP info a week ago, but it goes all into the incident to rules, Carla

they are planning on billing medicare under the doc's name for pts I see in the clinic and in the nsg home. 2 days a week the doc is in the clinic when i am there, but i go and see inpts at the nsg facility, which techinically is physically connected to the bldg where the clinic is. does this meet the criteria for 'incident to'? Am i correct in thinking they cannot blll medicare at MD rates if he is not on the grounds and does not see the pt the same day?

The admin said he'd check it out, but I need to know so I am not breaking any rules here. Oh, what about non-medicare pts? Admin does not think i need to be empanelled on other insurance companies-they will bill under doc's name, and I understand BCBS will not credential NP, is this true?
