Your trip sounds awesome! I would love to hear more about your planned course of study in Tibet. 

About 10 years ago the First International Conference on Tibetan Medicine was held in DC. However, the Dalai Lama informed us it was actually the second, the first having been thousands of years before! Did you know that PMS and PMDD do not exist or occur in Tibetan medicine? That is because the menses is considered a time of renewal and cleansing for the woman so all of her "work" (cleaning, cooking, caring for kids, etc) isdone by other members of the family including the men.
