PLEASE read the article that Dave so kindly has passed along with caution
since embedded within it is editorialization along with different points of
view. The editorialization is of concern for it doesn't portray the current
state of affairs regarding the DNP accurately.

Guidelines for DNP curriculum are clear. These program will be required to
meet standards to be approved by credentialing bodies. CLINICAL education is
an essential component with clear guidelines.

COMMENT: National Credentialing Examinations/Board Certification is
required in all but a handful of states for NPs to practice. This is advanced
practice nursing. So? Why is there a need for NBME to develop a "voluntary" DNP
certification exam? Let's not be led down the garden path or caught sleeping
at the wheel.

PET PEEVE: I like to think of NPs, other APRNs, PAs as being "educated" not
"trained". Different connotation... ie, educated vs. trained.
