Nancy: My point is NOT that we have to SHOW we are as good as
physicians or take an exam to do so. The point of the article and a
few of the nurses (not all NPs) that spoke had that view. That is the
reason for the NBNE exam.
My point was that if one intended to show that they were close to a
physician this was an interesting way to do it. One that the DOs
never wanted to do.
My other point was that if ONLY people who graduate DNP programs can
only take this exam, it becomes a new profession.
