I am well aware of this.
I was not the person giving the wrong information . I did not argue with the
students.
I am not sure if the part about reading the journals is directed at me , my
e mail was discussing students of DNP./
I am well aware of everything YOU SAID!!!!!
I WAS TALKING ABOUT INFORMATION THAT DNP STUDENTS WERE GIVEN BY their
professors .
SO WHY are the prof's giving out the wrong infol.

DO not kill the messenger.

Good grief!! I can't believe all the confusion and ignorance on the DNP
degree... doesn't anyone READ their journals and keep up with what's going
on?? First of all, the MSN for NPs has been a requirement for a number of
years already. The DNP is proposed as the new ENTRY level for all NEW NPS by
2015-- that means that NP programs will transition from the standard 2 yr
MSN program to the new 4 yr DNP program. All "old" MSN prepared NPs will be
grandfathered in and not be required to have a DNP for practice... but are
certainly welcomed to enroll in one of the 18-24 month bridging program if
they care to get theirs-- voluntarily. That being said, it is much like the
certificate vs MSN NPs... the certificate NPs were grandfathered in and
weren't required to have a MSN but large numbers went back to get a post-NP
MSN to stay marketable.

There is a university in florida that told the students that ALL np's must
have their masters by 2015.
I have been told this by several other DNP students from other
universities.
