[NPInfo] help needed

Ah, I used to work at Georgetown. 
 
Unfortunately I don't think you can request to see an NP/PA as an ongoing  
consistent caregiver. This may have changed since I was there (about 5 years  
ago). But the NP/PAs used to work only in urgent care. It's still pretty old  
school there. I was one of the first NPs and it was quite the uphill battle. I  
am sure there are more now, but I believe the majority work in specialty care. 
I  think one of the main reasons for this is the residency program. In the 
internal  medicine dept, the docs train the residents so it was tough getting a 
foothold  in there for an NP. I know my NP colleagues who worked in medicine 
were  frustrated a lot. 
I think there was a lot of billing confusion also because this is not a  
private practice but a faculty group within the hospital. Some of this may have  
been worked out since I left but I am not sure.
