[NPInfo] Call me "Dr. Nurse"

Well said Lynn, I completely agree. I have seen so much bickering about
DNP. Whether it is agreed upon or not, let's move on and solve other
things.... like maybe the huge number of people without health insurance...
or maybe the fact that we are not even close to the top in healthcare.

I have been reading all these posts about DNP programs, opinions about
them,
etc. I've come to realize that with our attitudes, we will not band
together
for the good of everyone. No one can agree on it. I've heard MD's argue
about things but when it comes to their profession, they stick together. Why

can't we? Are we afraid how it will affect us personally? Don't we know how
this
makes us look? It's not the titles... many people have "doctor" titles...
it's
how react to it and in front of other professions. We promote ourselves as
not united and other profession can prey upon us because they see how
conflicted amongst ourselves we are. Not everyone will agree with things.
But what is
the worst that could happen? I can see a lot if we continue to bicker. This

bickering has gone on since I entered nursing- except then it was over entry

into practice.. AD vs. diploma vs. BSN. Will is ever stop? That didn't
resolve either.

How can we move ahead if we just complain about things and don't work
towards making things better? And those who think things don't need to
change?????
Change is hard but inevitable.

Lynn, ANP, PMHNP
