[NPInfo] Scoliosis

That's good. Usually the specialist likes to have the films done in his
office where he will do "scoli films" of the whole spine. If there is a leg
length discrepancy, he will put blocks under the foot of his shorter leg to
equalize the pelvis to get a true reading of the curvature. Vicki

Gosh, thanks folks! My daughter-in-law just "casually" mentioned it to me
at
a family birthday party yesterday and asked what she should do. In all the
hub-bub, I did not ask her how it was diagnosed but I KNOW it was not by a
chiropractor but by their family doctor at his 5 year well child visit.
Obviously, I will look into this more...

I did tell her to make an appointment with a pediatric specialist in
Scoliosis at the excellent local Children's Hospital here in Seattle to have
it
checked more fully. I will encourage her even more strongly now with all
your wise
input!

I have no idea what "mild" meant... just that she pointed it out to her FP
MD, he concurred, and said he needs to "keep an eye on it". I am assuming
no
x-rays or imaging was done....

Thanks, again!

Susan V.
