Greetings to all, my question is to all on the list. Does your clinical
facility have a policy for non MD's using the salutation "doctor". I realize that
the AANP just released a position statement on this subject, my real
question: How many of you with doctorates, PHD,DNS,DPH,DNP,etc.use the title and
have you run into any problems. Please answer off list, it's just easier. A copy
of your policy would be great.
FYI, here in Pennsylvania the nurse practice act states "a CRNP with a
doctorate has to inform the patient they are not a medical doctor or a doctor of
osteopathy" Everyone I know does just that.
Thanks for responding. aa
