Nice story

Cheshire's Story.
Room for another Cyster in here? lol.

I've had alot of symptoms over the years and I KNEW I would end up as
a member here, been peeking into the message boards every now and then
for some time.

So let's rewind: I sporadically got fat around the age of 10, and I
had my first AF at age 12. They were never, ever regular.

So let's fast forward through several years of weight loss battles,
Doctors repetitively missing the point of "I haven't had a period in
so long I can't even remember", and then a few years of no health
insurance at all. (Do NOT move to TN, there is no state health
insurance and then the regular insurance companies charge ridiculous
amounts for coverage).

So now I'm 22 and in college as an EKG Tech, engaged to be married
next July. I finally grabbed onto some health insurance since I'm in
college (and that expires in November) - I made arrangements to get
some help about my AF issues.

First doctor did my bloodwork, and flat out blamed it on my weight
when the results came back normal. Yes - He called me fat and then
gave a long lecture about how I CAN lose the weight if I just applied
myself to do so. So he ignored my testimonial that I'm a complete
health freak, and assumed I sit on my behind and eat donuts all day.

Obviously I switched doctors. The second was a nurse at an OBGYN
specialist clinic. Ran the bloodwork, came back normal. "Some women
just have irregular periods." And we argued about it until I realized
that she couldn't be bothered to actually WORK for her patients.

And I went another step down trying to escape the egotistical jerks I
had kept running into trying to get help. My future MIL told me about
a Physician's Assistant who "is the best thing since sliced bread" -
and she totally is. I told her about my experience with the other
doctors, asked if I had ever had an ultrasound, and said "I don't even
want your bloodwork right now, I want to SEE what's going on first".

So I was referred to have an abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound.
Verdict? I have cysts all over my ovaries, of course. I called that
years ago, regardless of the blood results.

This year my symptoms have spiked quite a bit. I have newly developed
extra blonde facial hair, and I jumped up to 212 pounds regardless of
my "health freak" status. I can gain and lose the same 30-50 pounds
several times a year without much change in diet/exercise, but I've
never hit the 200 mark before.

My current status is that the OBGYN wants to put me on birth control -
I'm currently taking Provera 10mg for two weeks to induce my AF, since
my last was in February. I haven't talked to the Physician's Assistant
in a few weeks, so I'll have to see her soon about testing for IR.

Next year after we get married, we intend on moving to Florida - After
that we'll worry about TTC.

Obviously I inherited this from my Mother - who took 5 years to get
pregnant with me (with gestational diabetes), and 10 years to get
pregnant with my Brother (no diabetes) - After she had my Brother
she's regular like clockwork.

So when the time comes that I am TTC, I really wanted to stay out of
the hospital (Ironic, since I'm in the medical field) and have an at-
home water birth. Thats IF we can jump the diabetes/high blood
pressure/high risk/multiple babies hurdle, and that's set pretty high.

Anyhow, this is me - and that's my story. I'm sure you'll be seeing
quite a bit of me on here in the future.
