Sue,
What was the "theme" of "The Plot Against America"? That sounds intriguing. Carla

I think that this is a different thread than the one regarding books. However, they seem linked via leisure. Since I have deleted the prior messages, I am responding on this thread.
Three books that we read for my book club (I am the least educated of our group and truly struggle to participate, but love the challenge: one MD, two PhDs):
American Woman by ? Susan Choi I believe. I found this in the Elliot Bay Bookstore in Seattle. A fiction based on the facts of the Patty Hearst story. Was a Pulitzer Prize runner up.
The Brief and Woundrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
The Plot Against America by Philip Roth

Me? I'm on a week's vacation and for once am just staying home and going no where. I'm staying up late, sleeping in late, running an hour a day on the beach (in between torrential rains storms), my clothes are finally all laundered (even folded and put away!), check book is reconciled, bills paid, finished one novel
and started another, had a pedicure, two long soaks in the tub a day, ran all the errands that had piled up, completed the educational component for my Capstone project and submitted it to the IRB, managed to have two date-nights with my boyfriend, and even cooked him dinner last night (okay, it was a microwaved frozen dinner but that's more than he's ever gotten from me in the past 18 months). I even shaved my legs!! Tomorrow is the last day of this heavenly vacation and> I think I will tackle the 2 months worth of mail that has accumulated and get stuff together for the tax man. WHEW! Maybe I need one of these week-long v!> acations every month to keep my life straightened out! I go back to work Friday-- just have to get through one day and then it's the weekend off . And my housekeeper will get the house in order when I finally get out of it on Friday. I have decided that I LOVE not working!!!> Found my drink... life is even more better now! Ready to climb back into bed

Funny that you should put these two together-- is there a correlation? With
three concussions on my medical record and having previously been a 42DD (And, no, my prior top-heaviness did NOT cause me to fall over and hit my head), I guess I have to be more than a little concerned about both of these.
