[NPInfo] Question about FNP status in North Carolina

I have an FNP friend in NC who has not worked as an FNP for a number of  
years. She said due to NC rules, that she can't call herself an NP since she's  
not working as one, and that makes no sense to me because she graduated the  
program and has an MSN. The question came up when I was mentioning to her about  
marketing to attorneys to do med mal cases involving FNPs.
