Well, obviously the physician and his wife are not running a charitable
organization. Our free enterprise system (capitalism) allows for people
to practice their professions, earn a living, and make a profit.
However, in health care, it is time for the United States to provide
some basic level of health care services to all of our citizens. And
probably to non-citizen residents as well.

Best Regards,

Shelby Havens, ARNP

Had to add my two cents.

After I was "let go" from my IM practice, Dr. X had a conversation with
the
staff. He said that he was running a business. One of the MAs said, "I
thought we were providing health care". Neither he nor his wife (the
office
manager) commented.

That is the problem....we treat health care as a business instead of a
service.
