The electronic intensive care unit at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, allows specialists, as well as physicians and nurses, to remotely monitor patients. As of this week, the Mercy eICU is tracking about 80 patients at five ICUs in the state. Des Moines Register.
