regarding note on poster "Our physicians will be available to assist with
the nurse practitioner's clinical decision process if needed" - This almost
makes it sound like the NP is 'just out of rehab' (drugs/mental or both) -
But, seriously, this may be a reassurance to patients who have not yet
acclimated to the NP role, or who do not know yet what NPs do/can do.
Also, as to an earlier post: "I frequently hear physicians concerns about
their liability if an NP makes a medication error or some such thing..."
comment: Many Physicians remain baffled by what their own liability is, as
well as their liability for actions of their receptionists/medical
assistants/employees, etc. etc. They also seem mindless about their
liabilities as a 'partner' in a medical practice. So, this contrived concern
about liability for acts of a NP are sort of on the level of scandal
mongering, or damning by insinuation......

of her office, I noticed a flyer on the wall announcing the hiring of a
nurse practitioner. There was a nice photograph of the NP in her lab coat,
and a brief bio listing her education, experience, and board cerfication. At
the bottom of the announcement, the following statement was posted:

regarding this? Maybe an article or paper that I could have handy to show
them when they misspeak regarding the legal ramifications of entering a
collaborative agreement? > > Joe> >
