[NPInfo] DNP another thought

Nope, we won't be 2nd class DNPs... we will have finished a total of 4 yrs
of DNP education (2 yrs MSN and the 2 remaining yrs) so our education will
be the same. It will be no different than the extra 2 yrs of education an
ADN RN goes back for to become a BSN. A BSN is a BSN is a BSN, no matter
what route you took to get it. The same will be for the bridging DNP
programs. For a MSN prepared NP to go back to school for a 4 yr DNP is
absolutely ridiculous as you'd spend at least 2 yrs taking classes and
repeating clinical rotations that have already been done in our MSN
programs. As for me, it ends here for nursing.

Subject: [NPInfo] DNP another thought
I was just struck by another thought: The DNP programs now are "Bridging
Programs" for MSN prepared NP.
So when the full 4 year programs start with the people with the "Bridged"
(read abridged) programs be a lesser level of DNP than the full 4 year
Cohort?
Broc, Dena, Peg? Any thoughts on that? I mean where does this end?
Do we all fly to Antigua and just get MD's there?
Ted
Still fuming
