I would recommend ordering the VAP or NMR Lipid panels. These break down both the HDL and LDL into a particle count for the specific lipoproteins which then lets you know whether or not the LDL number is of concern. This patient most likely has a genetic lipid disorder which is why her HDL is so high. Lipidologists use these tests in evaluating patient response to treatment.
