Dave:
You are now my official attack dog, man! WAY TO GO. We need more pointed, no-beating-around-the-bush complaints to the slights and insults to our professions. Your letting to HCNN was right on target. THANK YOU for representing all of our interests, and I include the patients here.

Hi Melanie:
Please do not take this email personally. PAs and nurse practitioners
are licensed professionals. Both professions are able to legally
prescribe in all 50 states. We make our own independent decisions on
what to prescribe, we have our own DEA and NPI numbers and it seems
whomever made construed the HCNN was not aware of this. With over
200,000 of us in practice I can not believe we were not included.
Who is responsible for the decision to keep NPs and PAslinked to a
specific physician? PAs and NPs are not physically tied to a
physician, (some NPs do not even need a physician to practice) and
PAs and NPs change employment sites frequently.
We need to be able to be registered as full prescribers. Anything
less would be unacceptable.
Please let me know who to write to or speak with to change this.
Also please register me at the email I am using.
Thanks so much in advance for your help.
