[NPInfo] Sad News

I think Jeff was simply commenting on how inappropriate it was for someone
with a MSN degree to not be made a commissioned officer like those with
advanced degrees in other fields. I don't think he meant anything else by
it. How many other Lance Corporals do you think have Masters degrees in
anything?

My heart goes out his family, but I am bothered about the statement of how
degrading it is to be a NCO, by the time I received my NP I was already a
Master Sergeant and I had Col and Generals listen to me based on my
experience and their respect for me as a person. At that point in time you
couldn't not give me a commission nor would I take it. Besides you meet a
nice class of people down in the trenches versus listening to that kind of
BS...

Community Hospital,
Last time I looked, the SAS didn't have NPs. He was serving on Active duty
in the SAS. One interesting part of British system is that if there is not
an appropriate slot in the unit officers and senior enlisted will opt to
take lower ranking positions in elite units. It would help to be better
educated about the military before you call something inappropriate or
degrading. Instead salute those who chose to serve and volunteered to go
into harms way.
