[NPInfo] 60 Minutes. Did you see?

I did not see it, but that has always been one of my goals is to have a side free clinic, or offer volunteer health services, once I get in the black enough to pay my own bills. I am not there yet, but I think it is wonderful that there is a group starting to make a significant difference. I think that is the way to help balance out some of this incredibly expensive healthcare..for example I am self employed and my health insurance costs me 438.00 a month because of my age, and some health conditions. That does not include the deductible or co insurance. Do any of you experience that if you are self employed? That is just way too much. It should be half that. There are some policies out there now that work with Health Savings Accts, so that you can put pre tax money in, and use it for your visits, but they still work better when you are not self employed, and they have very high deductibles. I would be interested in hearing what other insurance plans people have, if
 they are self employed.

There was a program on the radio today, speaking about whether we should have a socialized type plan, and the rebuttal was that the AMA would put out an incredible spin as they did back when Ronald Reagan proposed it, and then Hilary Clinton, and convince people they would get substandard care, or have long waits, etc.. They said that America just has this view of remaining in a competitive market, including the business of healthcare.. I think healthcare is a business, but that there needs to be a balance, because it may be used as a business, but a person's health is far different than servicing a car, or selling a house, and cannot be thought of in the same way.
