Dave, Your comment on the clothes is right on target. I "cured" a teen of her body odor after a discussion about "even if you do not think you sweat, you do, so wash your clothes often!"
Another comment- For the patient in question, is this underarm type odor or perhaps an oral health issue such as dental decay or gum disease? Is she ketotic? The later is common with dieting and can be quite intense. Bacterial vaginosis? Can the examiner detect the odor?
