I had a “young“ 58 yo male pt die of a hemorrhagic stroke 3 days after
starting Chantix. He had many co-morbidities (not my pt but his wife is and
he’s well known to our group- - used to see the doc I work with) but thought
I’d poll the group in case others had anything like this. Should I call the
company?
I know of the other se’s but couldn’t help but wonder if related somehow.
Thanks,
Priscilla Merrill FNP
READING this again.... I'm struck that that this was "not my pt".... yet you
write "Should I call the company?"..... Pardon, but "this is not your
patient"... My premise in my earlier mail is supported even further. It's not
YOUR place to notify the company... It's the responsibility of clinician's of
record.
