Not sure if you're familiar with community health centers but while he was
not "My Patient", we all work as a team here and see each others' patients
when the primary cannot. The couple both are well-known patients to this
practice. I erroneously stated he was seen by the doc, but it was another
NP who agreed to have our nurse called since this was the request of the
widow.
Hope this clarifies the picture.

Thanks,

Priscilla Merrill

Subject: Re: [NPInfo] Chantix

Given the scenario of stroke 3 days post start of Chantix I would:

1. This fellow most likely had an Autopsy....

2. Given Autopsy, the medical examiner customarily reviews the case and
contacts health professionals RT case.

3. Finding out what was ascertained through post mortem examination
regarding the decedent's "total picture" and any possible link to Chantix
is the
place to begin.

4. To do otherwise is supposition and can create an unnecessary flurry of
fingerpointing... litigation...etc etc.... The survivors go through much
as it
is without having this added layer unless signs point to this as a
potential/viable explanation.
