I just wanted send out a heartfelt tribute to a former colleague, Mark
Coyne, RN, one of the men who died yesterday in the tragic medical helicopter
crash in Wisconsin.

I worked with Mark for 5 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Hospital. I was an RN in the Peds ICU at the time (while working on my first NP
degree) and Mark was one of the first flight nurses. When Mark had down time
from the flights, he would come to pitch in at the ICU. He was funny, kind
and big-hearted, and a superb RN. He had worked over 20 years as a flight
nurse; his passion was flying.

Although I did not personally know them, the other 2 people killed in the
crash were a surgeon/med flight doc, and the very experienced pilot.

So, for Mark and all the other med flight people the world over, thank you
for a job well done!

Greta
