They have some links on their site that will show you some examples. There are also some less expensive ones. Just go to the link section in: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IndNursePrac On the home page of the url that I just typed, in the left column, there is a section that lists all the different services at the group site. One of them is called: Links Click on that and it will take you to some folders. One of the folders contains links to sites that provide a combination of a website and domain name. They are different prices. What you want is a combined price per month for the website and your own domain name. Up from that, it depends on your knowledge of webpage design. If you are comfortable with designing your own webpages and it's not that difficult really, you can get the one's with no frills package. If you aren't that comfortable with webpage design, then you want a website provider that has templates you can use. Then, it's just a case of fill in the blank, upload your graphics, etc. Hope this has been helpful. Hey Paula, let me know which website provider you end up going with. Can you design your own webpages? I've learned how over the years, but started out with free template programs that I could modify and also make changes using coding after I became more proficient in coding. I liked the price of the cheaper one's, but I'm a bit skeptical of anything that inexpensive. I'll have to ask in some of my friendship groups if anyone uses IPAGE.COM. They started soliciting me hard. And I had heard pretty good things about them $6/mo isn't bad at all. I know what you mean about Geocities. I had a site there once quite a few years ago. It was on a bunch of subjects. Well, all of a sudden, one day it disappeared. When they merged with whomever it was they merged with, half their clients lost their webpages and their was no way to retrieve them. They were gone for ever. I have a personal site at Tripod that has upped their advertisments and I am not so thrilled with it. When I started out, with them, there wasn't any advertising. Then, they went to roll up and click off advertising now it's loaded with advertisement. If I go for ipage, I will prolly move my personal site and merge it with my business site. If you wanted to check out my website, it's http://pamela_provost.tripod.com Don't forget to click off the left sided panel that is advertisements that cut off half the webpage. When you get your site done, send me your url. I'd love to see it. Thanks hon, Pamme ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----- Original Message ----- From: Paula J. Message-ID: <20040824145320.17090.qmail@web51610.mail.yahoo.com> Dear Members and Friends, The Florida Nurses' Association asked the NNBA to distribute the following message. We have been requested by the Department of Health to distribute as widely as possible the need for Registered Nurses to work in hospitals and nursing homes in Southwest Florida. This is a request for volunteers willing to work without compensation for a minimum of seven days. Please share this information with your nursing colleagues and inform any who are willing to go to www.volunteerflorida.org to sign up. The website has had thousands of nurses willing to do a day or two but the critical need is for nurses who can commit to at least seven days. Please share this information with Nursing Specialty Organizations as well as with your co-workers. Thank you! Patricia Ann Bemis, RN CEN President National Nurses in Business Association, Inc.
