I have bought directly from them for 6 years without any problems. I talked to their rep today and she said they sold all of their supply of vaccine within 72 hours of the prebooking. Is anyone aware of medical suppliers or other sources to get vaccine? I feel very frustrated that big grocery stores or pharmacies get priority over health care providers in recieving vaccines. I believe a persons heatlh care provider is the best to determine if someone is at high risk or not. I also think it is terrible that those at high risk must stand in long lines to get vaccinated when they can scedule an appoint with there provider. Does anyone know contacts at the CDC or where to go to get this remedied? I have written to my local politicians without any response. I have many diabetic and high risk patients and I feel so helpless and frustrated that I won't be able to offer flu shots this season Any info appreciated Thank you Gaylene Adams ARNP-c Factoria Women & Family Clinic -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Chiron, and I believe, GSK are also producing flu vaccine. I would contact your usual medical supply house (Anda, Seacoast etc) and order from them. Adventis Pastuer was the only player last year when Chiron was stopped from releasing their vaccine by the USA and British government due to production/contamination concerns. There are no current issues with either GSK or Chiron this year. Shop around. Dr. will stay for a while to transition. I've wanted to open an OB office for a while and maybe this is my foot in the door being able to combine the 2. Since I'm stalemated on my road to being a nurse practitioner or licensed midwife, as the soonest I can graduate is in 12-18 months, I'd have to hire a FNP for the patient care. I have asked an OB/GYN to be my medical director but he's still waiting for his MediCal provider number-it's been about 22-23 months now!! So, I might have to ask a different OB/GYN. My question for you is how do I decide if the asking price is decent? My husband's a general surgeon who knows no one who bought someone else's practice. What do I look for ? Can I negotiate , say a 10 year payment plan?? Should I pay to consult with Carolyn Buppert? If Carolyn Buppert has a reasonable consulting fee, that might be a good idea. Another person you could pay to consult with is Bob Smithing, ARNP, who's run a successful family practice in Washington state for years. He might even own this list--not sure. He does business consulting I think and he'd surely know what he's talking about. You can find Bob Smithing and his services at the NP Central web-site. I suggest you contact a Small Business Development Center in your area, establish a women owned business, seek assistance from a commercial lender that is able to help structure a purchase and assess future income steams and validate the present value of the business. Ideally, you should have been practicing for a while prior to doing this, but sometimes these potential sales drag along a while before the seller really gets serious about letting go. (I would suggest not disclosing any more details about the potential sale online). Good luck to you. David M. Shelby V.P.
