[PrvPracNP] medical malpractice

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone knows of any malpractice insurance companies
that insure nurse practitioners in private practice.

I currently have Marsh Affinity. The policy was up for renewal in January.
I had my renewal application and related documentation sent in by the middle
of January. When I called the other day to find out what the status is I
was told that the underwriters have to review the renewal policy and decide
if they want to continue providing my coverage. They told me that this
would take at least 3 weeks. In the meantime I have no coverage as of
January 31 and I have to just sit and wait. I would like to check out other
options, just in case they come back and say that they do not want to
continue to cover me. I have had absolutely no claims or incidents
regarding med malpractice.

NSO will not provide coverage to me, because I also do cosmetic procedures
such as facials, etc.

There are real slim pickings out there regarding what insurance companies
will cover APNs in private practice. The ones that do have extremely rigid
rules.

I don't hear about a lot of medical malpractice suits against APNs in
private practice, yet these insurance companies do not want to get involved
with us.

Can anyone provide any assistance or advice?

Thanks
