On Sunday May 18, 2008, we will be talking with Dorothy Malone-Rising, MS,
RN-CS, ANP, CDE. She is the Program Director of The Diabetes Center of
Lamoille Valley in Johnson, Vermont. In addition to running her clinic,
Dorothy participates in Diabetes Medical Missions to Mexico two-three times
per year.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to assist the Director of Anesthesia
Research at Huntington Memorial Hospital in evaluating and managing hospital
patients for research studies. You will collaborate closely with the Director,
an MD recognized for his expertise in peri-operative pain management. You will
be intricately involved in evaluating patients for new protocols,
administering study medication, and tabulating data. We are conducting high-quality
inpatient clinical trials for global pharmaceutical & biotech sponsors,
specializing in the evaluation of drugs and devices used in the peri-operative arena.
Job Responsibilities include:
? Provide patient care, screening, & educational support to hospital
patients before, during, and after they make a decision regarding participation in a
research study.
? Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of assigned research
study protocols including protocol requirements for subject consenting;
subject visits; subject visit schedules; lab tests; procedures and drug
accountability.
? Responsible for patient assessments and completion of study documentation.
? Interact with study Principle Investigator to ensure subjects receive
appropriate medical evaluation and care.
Qualifications:
? Licensed Nurse Practitioner
? Must be drawn to work in fast-paced environments and exceptional at
thinking on your feet
? Minimum of six months experience direct patient care, new grads (top
performers) considered
? Ability to work well with patients, peers, and management
? Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks
simultaneously with precision, while adhering to intricate protocols
? Exudes a positive attitude and a teamwork philosophy
