ARNP Global Signature Authority Bill Signed Into Law

The Global Signature Authority Bill was signed into law. This will enable all ARNPs to sign a variety of forms and documents in Washington State which have previously required the signature of a physician. The signature of an ARNP will now be accepted on any non-federal form that is within the scope of practice for the signing ARNP. Watch for further information. 
Seattle University College of Nursing Dean’s Annual Lecture: “Patient-Centered Research and Practice”

Debra Barksdale, professor and director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing, will be the featured speaker at the College of Nursing Dean’s Annual Lecture. Her talk is titled “Patient-Centered Research and Practice: Integrating Perspectives to Achieve Quality Outcomes.” In 2010, Barksdale was the only nurse appointed to the Board of Governors for the new Patient‐Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) by the U.S. Government Accountability Office under the Obama Administration. She was reappointed to the post in 2012 for six years and chairs the Engagement, Dissemination and Implementation Committee. Barksdale was recently appointed to the Veteran’s Choice Act Blue Ribbon Panel. She has served as a Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy Fellow, president of the prestigious National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow.
