Is an integral member of mental health treatment in the Social and 
Behavioral Health Service
to include medication management, individual and group psychotherapy. 
Provides tele-mental
health care to patients in a rural VA Community Based Outpatient 
Clinic (CBOC). Provides
age-specific care for adult, older adult (65-74) and geriatric (over 
75) patients/groups
including the following elements related to the aging process: 
promotes independence,
encourages self care, involves family or designated care giver with 
care, provides any
necessary safety measures, and assists patient to cope with and/or 
compensate for changes
affecting mobility, balance, loss, cognition, eyesight, hearing, 
bones, skin, and thermo
regulation. Assesses age-specific care requirements and develops an 
appropriate plan of
care. Acts as an expert consultant in clinical practice and/or in 
area(s) related to practice role
responsibilities. Analyzes the outcomes of emergency situations. 
Initiates and/or participates
in interdisciplinary project(s) which document improvement in 
organizational performance.
