Nurse Practitioner

Orlando Regional Medical Center, a part of Orlando Health (formerly 
Orlando Regional
Healthcare), is the areas only Level 1 Trauma Center. We are seeking 
a Nurse Practitioner
for Neurosurgical Services. This position will report to the Director 
of Advanced Practice
Nursing and Research Department.

Position will be responsible for care of the acute and critically ill 
neurosurgery population in
an advanced practice nursing position. Activities in this role 
include physical and psychosocial
assessment, health history, and evaluation through diagnostic 
studies. Qualified applicants
will work collaboratively to formulate treatment plans with 
neurosurgeons, PAs and the patient
care team. Implements appropriate management based on laboratory 
results, physical
assessment, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic 
measures and post
discharge care in accordance with protocols. Initiates appropriate 
actions to facilitate the
implementation of therapeutic plans that are consistent with the 
continuing healthcare needs
of patients. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves patient care issues 
to foster significant
improvement in patient care. Dictates and documents an accurate and 
timely manner.
Conducts or participates in daily multidisciplinary rounds. Triages 
patients and communicates
with treatment team as indicated. Shares clinical expertise with 
professional and supportive
personnel and collaborates with other healthcare disciplines to 
ensure continuity and quality
of care.

Requirements include:

* Master's degree in nursing required with a nurse practitioner focus
* Must be eligible for ARNP Licensure in the state of Florida and 
hold certification as a Nurse
Practitioner
* Maintain current BLS and ACLS certification
* Five years nursing experience
* Specialty experience in critical care and neurosurgery preferred
