JOB DESCRIPTION

Children's Hospital of Orange
County (CHOC) is a 232-bed state-of-the art children's hospital 
located in the city of Orange
California and has earned a strong reputation for leadership in 
pediatric health care across the
Southern California region.

The CHOC Heart Institute provides state of the art diagnosis and 
treatment for an entire
spectrum of cardiac conditions from the neonatal to the adolescent 
patient. The CHOC Heart
Institute provides comprehensive cardiac care including complete 
cardio diagnostics, cardiac
catheterization and cardiac surgical services. We are the only 
regional facility to perform neonatal
and pediatric open heart surgery.

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner practices within 
developed Standardized
Procedures and Process Protocols and plans, implements and evaluates 
the plan of care for
pre and post procedure cardiac EP patients. Management includes but 
not limited to, performing
history and physical examination, ordering and interpreting 
appropriate diagnostic and laboratory
tests, and furnishing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological 
therapies in a cost efficient
manner. The Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse Practitioner functions 
both as an independent
practitioner and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary cardiac team.

This position requires a Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner 
program, MSN required
Current California Registered Nurse license, Nurse Practitioner 
certification, current PALS and
BLS, and Furnishing and DEA number. Training and experience in 
pediatric cardiology nursing
in ambulatory and inpatient settings. One year experience as a Nurse 
Practitioner in pediatric
critical care, prefer pediatric cardiovascular experience. Strongly 
prefer Cardiac EP lab nursing
experience as well as holter, pacemaker, event monitor and stress 
testing training and
experience.
