Nurse Practitioner – Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator

Position Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Nurse 
Practitioner VAD Coordinator who is
knowledgeable in cardiovascular nursing, 
end-stage heart failure and mechanical circulatory
support devices. You will collaborate with our 
VAD Program’s medical and surgical directors to
provide clinical management for patients 
receiving our circulatory support services. You will be
responsible for coordinating the clinical 
evaluation of potential VAD candidates, analyzing data
to formulate a diagnosis, selecting appropriate 
pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic
interventions, providing discharge planning along 
with ongoing patient education regarding
procedures, medications, treatment plan and follow-up care.

Requirements:
Requires a master’s degree from an accredited 
Nurse Practitioner Program and a minimum
1-2 years as a Nurse Practitioner with LVAD, 
Transplant–Heart & Lung experience. Must have
a current Texas (or BNE compact state) license 
with BNE recognition as an Advanced Practice
Nurse and prescriptive authority by the BNE and 
BME. Must be a Registered Acute Care Nurse
Practitioner with BCLS and ACLS certification.
