*Chief Clinical Officer *

The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is seeking a motivated, organized, and
detail-oriented nurse clinician to serve as its Chief Clinical Officer. 
The Chief
Clinical Officer, as a member of the AFC Senior Leadership team and in 
alignment
with the organization's vision, mission and values, will plan AFC's 
clinical strategy
and set clinical goals for all HIV care, research, and prevention 
related services at
AFC. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Care Programs, 
Research
Director, and Prevention Director, the Chief Clinical Officer will act 
as a clinical
leader in developing, implementing and monitoring program and service 
standards.
He/she will champion best practices to ensure early diagnoses of HIV, 
linkage to
care, retention in care, and provision of high-quality medical services 
to achieve the
highest health outcomes possible.

Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, AFC is a local and
national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. AFC collaborates with 
community
organizations to develop and improve HIV AIDS services; funds and 
coordinates
prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champion's effective, 
compassionate
HIV/AIDS policy.

*Principal responsibilities of this position include the following: *
*Act as the clinical leader within the agency;
*Assist in the development of AFC's strategic planning;
*Assist in mapping unmet need in metro Chicago and develop plans with 
partner
organizations to address these gaps in services;
*Confer regularly with the CEO and CPO regarding medical/clinical 
aspects of
AFC's programming;
*Co-convene the Medial Advisory Group
*Maintain a current knowledge of relevant clinical trends in HIV/AIDS 
care, Hepatitis
care and STI testing and treatment etc;
*Maintain a current knowledge of HIV/AIDS service delivery providers and 
systems
in metropolitan Chicago;
*Review medical trends, experiences and approaches;
*Collaborate with relevant AFC staff to create clinical quality 
improvement projects
that improve medical outcomes for service recipients;
*Prepare reports and recommendations for AFC's Board of Directors regarding
clinical outcomes in AFC's service portfolio that include care, 
prevention and housing;
*Provide consultation on AFC's clinical outcomes related research 
activities;
*Assist with analysis of clinical research data;
*Assists with agency-wide activities as directed, including Annual 
Meeting, AIDS
Run & Walk Chicago, World of Chocolate, and others;
*Assist with other AFC activities as requested;
*Performs other duties as assigned.

*Qualifications: *
A licensed nurse practitioner (APN) with 5-years or more of HIV/AIDS 
clinical
experience or registered nurse (RN) with 7 or more years of HIV/AIDS 
clinical
experience. Clinical experience in a setting with 15 or more 
HIV-positive patients,
and experience with community-based healthcare and social service 
agencies is
preferred. In-depth knowledge of the HIV service system in metropolitan 
Chicago
preferred. Past experience in working with clinical research projects is 
desirable.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, 
provide
leadership and articulate plans to a varied workforce, establish agency and
workload priorities, work across sectors, and manage deadlines is critical.
Experience with leading an advisory group would also be a plus.

Hiring range for this position is the $80,000 to $90,000 annually 
dependent on
experience. Excellent benefits include medical, dental and disability
