*Responsibilities/Duties:*
Various Regular Full Time Nurse Practitioner opportunities currently 
exist in the
Edmonton Zone supporting the Home Living and Supportive Living departments.
Relocation allowance may be available subject to certain conditions and 
criteria.

Home living is the housing option for persons who choose, and are able to
maintain active, healthy, independent living while remaining in their 
home as
long as possible. In order to support continued independent living, Alberta
Health Services provides clients with services that include scheduled 
nursing,
rehabilitation, social work and personal care services.

Supportive Living (SL) provides personal and professional care services for
3,000 residents in over 115 supportive living sites in the Edmonton Zone.
Supportive Living is intended to promote independence in a supported
environment in the community. Clients may receive scheduled and unscheduled
nursing and personal care services; rehabilitation services; on-site 
recreational
activities; assistance to access leisure opportunities in the community; an
assessment for medical supplies or equipment; and specialized services for
clients with dementia, brain injury, mental health or complex health 
care needs.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide assessments, interventions and
treatments for clients. The NP will be self-directed, providing client 
focused
care based on advanced practice nursing and medical management knowledge
and skills. The principal role of the NP is the provision of timely and 
effective
clinical care including comprehensive medical assessments and interventions
to reduce unnecessary acute care admissions. The NP will advance nursing
practice through leadership, education, consultation and research. 
Travel to
various sites within the program will be required. The NP will work in an
interdisciplinary team and collaborate with other relevant stakeholders 
in the
community and region.

*Qualifications:*
A minimum of a Masters degree in Nursing with current, valid entry on 
the Nurse
Practitioner Roster of The College and Association of Registered Nurses of
Alberta (CARNA) required. Prefer three to five years recent clinical 
experience
working in acute care, primary care or a community based setting. National
Nurse Practitioner Certification is preferred. Strong leadership, 
interpersonal,
verbal and written communication and competency in MSOffice required. A
current valid CPR certificate is required.
