*Position Summary: *
This position reports to the Section Chief and Director of Medical Imaging.
Performs normal and customary duties of a nurse practitioner practicing 
medicine
in his/her specialty area, including call coverage for the specialty. 
Provides age
appropriate specialty related expertise through education, consultation, 
role
modeling, patient/family care, quality assurance, community outreach, 
marketing,
and research. Manages and facilitates care for selected patients by 
rendering
services within the scope of licensure by the state of Arizona, 
professional
standards and education.

Required Qualifications: *
Bachelor's Degree with a major in Nursing from a State Board of Nursing
approved school and satisfactory completion of an approved nurse 
practitioner
program. CPR certified. At least 5 years clinical experience with a 
minimum of 3
years experience in medical imaging. Excellent interpersonal, communication
and patient teaching skills are required

Requires considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques
of the assessment and management of patients requiring vascular and
non-vascular interventional management of their diseases. Requires
understanding of the use, side effects, administration and monitoring of
medications. Requires knowledge and skills for the performance of 
procedures
pertinent to the management of these patients

Preferred Qualifications: *
Previous work experience with medical and surgical patients. ACLS 
certification
is preferred, Experience in a teaching hospital or other academic health 
care
setting is also preferred. Also needed is considerable skill in 
communicating
effectively with a variety of people of various socioeconomic and 
educational
backgrounds. The principles, practices and techniques described in this
paragraph may be taught on the job.

*Required Licenses/Certifications/Credentialing: *
- Current State of Arizona RN license
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the State Board of Nursing
- Possess prescribing privileges through the Arizona State Board of Nursing
and DEA privileges. This must be obtained within one year of employment.

Incumbent must obtain both UAMC and Faculty Practice credentialing/clinical
privileges prior to hire date. In addition, credentialing/clinical 
privileging from
any other affiliated institutions in which the incumbent will have 
patient care
responsibilities is required.
