*Nurse Practitioner*

The Department of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, 
is seeking a
NP to join our academic CT Surgery Practice. Under the direction of 
Cardiothoracic
Surgeons, the NP provides care of cardiothoracic patients both pre and post
operatively. Primary duty involves ward coverage on in-hospital 
patients. The NP will
also assist in performing patient histories, physicals and discharge 
summaries.
Completion of an accredited NP program with clinical focus and 
experience with
Cardiothoracic Surgery is preferred. Eligibility for license to practice 
in South
Carolina is required. (Prior leadership experience, demonstrated ability 
to facilitate
change, and professional certification or affiliation preferred.) *Must 
be able to work
fourteen 12.5 hour shifts per month, which will include nights and 
weekends. *

NP: BSN, MN, or MSN and official recognition as an Advanced Practice RN 
by the
Board of Nursing for South Carolina. Licensed as a Registered Nurse and 
hold
official recognition as a Nurse Practitioner from the SC Board of Nursing.
