*About The Center*

Autonomic disorders is an emerging subspecialty that bridges the gap 
between neurology and internal medicine. At the Center, we care for 
patients with developmental, neurodegenerative, autoimmune and 
traumatic/acquired conditions that affect autonomic function. This 
includes Parkinson’s disease, multiple system atrophy, neurocardiogenic 
syncope (fainting), familial dysautonomia, and rare Jewish genetic 
diseases.

*About Our Research*

The Dysautonomia Center receives special initiatives for the study of 
orphan diseases. Our work is made possible by funding from the NIH, FDA, 
and Michael J. Fox Foundation – including a recent $1+ million grant to 
study familial dysautonomia. We are also the lead site for a 
collaborative natural history study that documents the clinical features 
of patients with rare autonomic diseases, in order to help identify 
neurological diseases before they spread to the brain.

*About This Opportunity*

* Train to assess, diagnose, and manage the health of dysautonomia 
patients.
* Play an essential role on a dynamic hands-on team of 10+ staff members.
* See 3-4 medically complex patients per day, with an emphasis on young 
adults.
* Coordinate patient care with neurologists and other specialists.
* Be on the forefront of new developments in dysautonomia treatment.
* Apply translational research in molecular biology and genetics.
* Participate in international education and program development work.
* Educate NP students who are rotating through the Dysautonomia Center.
* Receive the nurturing support you need to learn, grow, and develop 
your career.

*About You*

You must be an intellectually curious and academically focused NP who is 
driven by the opportunity to make a lasting difference through the 
research, care, and treatment of dysautonomia patients. Recent NP 
graduates are welcome to apply. Neurology experience is not required, 
and internal medicine experience is welcomed. You should also be 
licensed as an Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner, have the desire to 
travel internationally, and be able to collaborate effectively with 
other research organizations.
