*Job Title: Nurse Practitioner, Travel and Immunization Services

University Health Services (UHS) at Princeton University is a fully 
accredited (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, or 
"AAAHC") health care facility. Located in the McCosh Health Center, the 
Caldwell Field House and Dillon Gym, UHS provides comprehensive health 
services to more than 7,500 Princeton undergraduate and graduate 
students, and specialized services to Princeton University faculty, 
staff, and employees who experience work-related injuries and illnesses, 
or who require consultations regarding international and travel medicine.

*Clinical Care (50%)
-Sees patients by office appointment and/or primary care/urgent care.. 
Assesses physical, developmental and psychosocial health states of 
individuals through interview, physical examination and interpretation 
of laboratory data.
-Records nursing and medical diagnoses and implements appropriate plan 
of care, referring patients to other health care providers and tracking 
follow-up care as necessary.
-Collaborates with the Registered Nurse who administers immunizations 
and is primary person responsible for quality assurance of vaccine storage
-Educates clients to assume their own care and management of health 
problems as appropriate.
-Schedule includes weekdays and weekends.
-Sees Patients for Travel Planning and Immunization Visits.

*Health Promotions & Education (30%)
-Provides group lectures, both at UHS and elsewhere, for traveling 
students during business hours as well as after hours. (i.e. Art History 
department, Geology, the orchestra, singing groups, the debate team and 
many other departments).
-Provides advice on immunization and other relevant requirements for 
travelers.
-In conjunction with the physician coordinator, serves as a resource to 
UHS and the campus colleagues regarding Travel Health and Immunization 
issues.
-Reviews incomplete immunization records for matriculating graduate and 
undergraduate students and tracks catch up immunizations. The Travel and 
Immunization Nurse Practitioner regularly communicates with students who 
are at risk due to incomplete immunizations, and may implement 
registration holds and/or fines for students who are non-adherent with 
recommendations.

*Administrative Management (20%)
-Collaborates in the management of a budget of approximately $300,000.
-Coordinates some operational aspects of Travel and Immunization 
Services (Orders supplies, ensures proper storage of vaccine in 
compliance with standards, maintains record keeping and appointment 
system, and maintains systems to assure high compliance with state 
regulations).
-In collaboration with the Physician director, supervises entry of 
vaccine and immunization data to ensure compliance with state 
regulation; prepares Annual College Health Immunization Report for the 
New Jersey State Department of Health and insures compliance with State 
immunization regulations
-Undertakes QI studies and projects as appropriate
-Collaborates with colleagues on and off campus; builds and maintain 
relationships with same.


*Essential Qualifications
*-It is an essential requirement of all health care personnel that they 
have the ability to work unbiasedly with a population diverse in its

the employee demonstrate a positive attitude toward and respect for

-NJ license as a professional nurse
-MSN
-Completion of an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner program
-ANCC or equivalent certification as a Nurse Practitioner
-Minimum 1 year experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary 
care setting.
-2 years of experience in Travel Planning
-CPR/AED certification
-Good working knowledge of world geography
-Meticulous attention to detail.
-Dependability (since this individual insures our compliance with NJ 
State regulations)
-Flexibility (since schedule must be adapted to the schedule of other 
campus departments)
-Physical assessment skills including the ability to assess conditions 
caused by trauma.
-Excellent computer skills, ability to learn PUHS program and use EMR 
effectively
-Ability to contribute to financial decisions regarding purchasing 
vaccine stock
-Ability to provide direction to the Immunizations Nurse
-Thorough working knowledge of the CDC's "Health Information for 
Travelers" ("Yellow Book")
-Thorough working knowledge of the CDC's "Vaccine Information Statements"
-Willingness to invest time in monitoring changes in a rapidly changing 
field


*Preferred Qualifications*
-College Health experience
-Certificate in Travel Health from the International Society of travel 
medicine

The final candidate will be required to complete a background check 
successfully.
