Project Director WE KAN Grant Funded Position

Human Resources seeks candidates for a full-time 12 month WE KAN Grant
Project Director position in the School of Nursing.
*Responsibilities*
The WE KAN grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services (HRSA) to Washburn University. The grant period is 07/01/2017
to 06/30/2019 contingent upon availability of grant funding. The Project
Director will be responsible for successfully leading and implementing
the grant.
The Project Director will oversee all project activities, both at
Washburn University and with clinical partners and will be responsible
for the day to day management of the WE KAN Project Activities.
The Project Director will:
Oversee the recruitment, screening, and selection of applicants for the
traineeship opportunity.
Establish components of the student, curricular, and clinical databases
for the WE KAN project.
Monitor trainee enrollment and progress.
Terminate traineeship support for individual trainees should the need
arise.
Collaborate with Nursing Program (NP) faculty on curriculum revisions
and on evaluation of preceptors.
Collect competency and performance data on preceptors recruited for the
WE KAN Project.
Facilitate training for preceptors and faculty.
Collaborate with clinical agencies to ensure that clinical placements
and experiences support the DNP curriculum, are congruent with NP
competencies, and support the purpose of the WE KAN Project.
Set up additional training sites for NP clinical experiences in rural
areas.
Develop a process for procuring employment opportunities for graduates
in rural Kansas communities.
Supervise the Project Support Specialist.
Submit quarterly reports to the Principal Investigator.
Collaborate with the Principal Investigator in annual program evaluation
and reporting.
Serve as liaison to the consultants and other grant stakeholders in the
development of implementation strategies, processes and programs that
comply with HRSA guidelines and requirements for the WE KAN project and
in the establishment of resources and support for grant activities and
outcomes.
Lead and direct implementation of WE KAN project objectives to ensure
achievement of stated outcomes, metrics, activities and initiatives.
Monitor activities, review and assess reports, conduct site visits,
etc., to evaluate programs and project initiatives as they are
implemented. Work with clinical sites to provide on-going support and
assistance for program development and implementation.
Schedule and plan meetings for partners and stakeholders to provide
opportunities for networking, discussion and planning among grant
stakeholders. Provide ongoing support and direction to facilitate
program success.
Communicate project updates and information with the grant steering
committee and other internal and external stakeholders and groups
through written reports, prepared presentations, networking and other
available means to keep all apprised of project status and activities.
Initiate recruitment, recommend hires and supervise staff needed to
develop, promote, administer and support the WE KAN project. Assist with
or provide responsive problem-solving, performance evaluation,
performance feedback, and approvals of time and leave requests/reports.
Project related in and out of state travel required.
This grant-funded position ends June 30, 2019.
*Required Qualifications:* Nationally certified, doctoral-prepared
family nurse practitioner with experience in practice and education,
experience in preceptor role to students in health professional fields;
experience in project management; and experience in data collection and
evaluation. Valid driver's license with driving record that meets
University standards.
*Preferred Qualifications:* Work experience in academic systems and with
rural health services. Experience managing systems change and large
federal grants.
