*_Nurse Practitioner positions – Shreveport_ *

We are actively recruiting to fill the following full time Nurse 
Practitioner positions at our Shreveport facility.

*Nurse Practitioner – Trauma Program*

The Nurse Practitioner in the Trauma Program will assist the physician 
and/or physicians in conducting rounds in ICU and on floor, with the 
team and independently. Prepare for rounds by obtaining current 
appropriate lab and x-ray results. Assist with completion of daily flow 
sheets and assessment forms. Assist with communication of plan of care 
to patient, family and other caregivers. Assist with the gathering of 
data for billing purposes. Monitor adherence to protocols. Educate 
patients and families. Perform routine procedures such as, suturing of 
lacerations, incision and drainage of minor wounds.  Respond to Trauma 
Stat activations. Assist in placement of central lines.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS*
* Master’s degree in nursing
* Currently licensed in the State of Louisiana as an Advanced Practice 
Nurse

*Nurse Practitioner – Neonatal ICU*

The Nurse Practitioner in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at 
University Health must possess broad knowledge of the physiology, 
assessment, diagnosis, care planning, and treatment of acute, critical, 
complex chronically ill and well newborns. Assist the physician and/or 
physicians in conducting rounds in acute and long – term patient 
settings, develop patient management plans, provide 24 hour in house 
coverage for the NICU, attend deliveries, complete prenatal consults, 
and respond to emergencies outside Women’s and Children’s Services as 
requested. Will interact effectively with physicians, patients, nurses, 
as well as hospital staff. This individual will perform job duties under 
the supervision of the designated physician staff and adhere to 
established protocols and institutional policies. Will professionally 
contribute to quality improvement, staff education, resident training, 
and departmental tasks and must adhere to the organizational Code of 
Conduct.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS*
* Master’s degree in nursing
* Current license in the State of Louisiana as an Advanced Practice 
Nurse with prescription privileges
* Current Neonatal Nurse practitioner certification by the National 
Certification Corporation
