*_Nurse Practitioner positions – Monroe_*

We are actively recruiting to fill the following full time Nurse 
Practitioner positions at our Monroe facility.

*NP – Monroe Specialty Clinics*

This area consists of the Orthopedic Clinic, Cardiology Clinic, Oral and 
Maxillofacial Clinic, Discharge Clinic and the Vascular Surgery Clinic.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Monroe Specialty Clinic at University 
Health (UH) is a key member of the patient care team. The NP must 
possess broad knowledge of the clinical specialty area where they 
provide health care services. This individual will interact effectively 
with physicians, patients, nurses, as well as other UH staff. The NP 
will perform direct and indirect patient care duties under the 
supervision of designated physician staff while adhering to established 
protocols and institutional policies. Care may be provided on an 
outpatient or inpatient basis. The NP will work with the patient and 
care team to provide diagnosis and treatment, develop patient management 
plans and where applicable, perform routine procedures and assist in 
surgery and other major procedures. This individual may also assist the 
physician and/or physicians in conducting rounds in inpatient acute and 
long–term care settings.

*Nurse Practitioner – Children’s Health Clinic*

This clinic consists of five exam rooms and one treatment room that 
provides care for newborns to 18-year-olds (sick or well). Services 
include diagnostic testing, genetic testing and in-clinic Flu/Strep 
testing. Routine well-child visits, immunizations, developmental 
screenings and dental screenings are provided, and walk-ins are welcome.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Childrens’ Health Clinic at 
University Health (UH) is a key member of the patient care team. The NP 
must possess broad knowledge of the clinical specialty area where they 
provide health care services. This individual will interact effectively 
with physicians, patients, nurses, as well as other UH staff. The NP 
will perform direct and indirect patient care duties under the 
supervision of designated physician staff while adhering to established 
protocols and institutional policies. Care may be provided on an 
outpatient or inpatient basis. The NP will work with the patient and 
care team to provide diagnosis and treatment, develop patient management 
plans and where applicable, perform routine procedures and assist in 
surgery and other major procedures. This individual may also assist the 
physician and/or physicians in conducting rounds in inpatient acute and 
long–term care settings. Incumbent must be ACLS, BLS, and PALS certified.

*Nurse Practitioner – OB/GYN Clinic*

The *OB/GYN* Clinic is a newly-remodeled clinic that provides specialty 
services for gynecological needs. Services include, but are not limited 
to, prenatal OB visits, Contraception Clinic, GYN annual examinations, 
High Risk OB, and Pre and Post-Surgical Follow-ups. Providers include 
Physicians, Residents, Interns, Nurse Practitioners and a Nurse Midwife. 
Childbirth and Breastfeeding classes are also provided.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the OB/GYN Clinic at University Health 
(UH) is a key member of the patient care team. The NP must possess broad 
knowledge of the clinical specialty area where they provide health care 
services. This individual will interact effectively with physicians, 
patients, nurses, as well as other UH staff. The NP will perform direct 
and indirect patient care duties under the supervision of designated 
physician staff while adhering to established protocols and 
institutional policies. Care may be provided on an outpatient or 
inpatient basis. The NP will work with the patient and care team to 
provide diagnosis and treatment, develop patient management plans and 
where applicable, perform routine procedures and assist in surgery and 
other major procedures. This individual may also assist the physician 
and/or physicians in conducting rounds in inpatient acute and long–term 
care settings.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS*
* Currently licensed in the State of Louisiana as an Advanced Practice 
Nurse
* Certified or certification eligible by the American Nurses Association 
as a primary care nurse practitioner.
