Medicine, Hematology/Oncology (Inpatient)*

*Description*
The APP will primarily be involved in the inpatient lymphoma, leukemia, 
and bone marrow transplant (LLT) service. This service is mainly an 
Advanced Practice Practitioner manned service supervised by a fellow and 
attending physician. Five day coverage is required including Saturdays 
and Sundays.

The APP will report to Dr. Stopeck in the Division of 
Hematology/Oncology and be responsible for the following:

* Assess and evaluate patients on the LLT service.
* Perform physical exams and procedures as required.
* Write orders and daily notes on inpatients on the service.
* Review, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding laboratory 
findings for patients.
* Manage complications of chemotherapy including writing chemotherapy 
orders.
* Educate patients and family members regarding cancer management and 
treatment.
* Dictate admission and discharge summaries.
* Assist in transition of care planning.
* Knowledge of hospital information systems (EMR).
* Additional responsibilities may also be required as the position 
evolves over time.

*Qualifications*

*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*
Current NYS RN license. Master's degree in Nursing. NYS license as an 
adult and/or family nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant's degree.

*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*
Additional years of related experience in the management and treatment 
of cancer patients, especially bone marrow transplant or malignant 
hematology patients. Excellent communication skills. Chemotherapy 
certified, CBCN certification, ONC certification.
