Whatcom Counseling & Psychiatric Clinc

1. Provide psychiatric evaluations for patients referred from within 
the clinic as well as
community providers. Some of these evaluations are one time only for 
consultation or treatment
recommendations, for community physicians, while others are for 
on-going medication
management.
2. Prescribe psychotropic medication where indicated and manage the 
medications for clinic
patients.
3. Provide emergency evaluations referred by the clinic emergency 
staff, as required.
4. To attend all meetings, consultations and trainings, which are 
required by the supervisor, to
enhance patient issues and continuing education requirements.
5. Provide teaching/consultations to clinicians.
6. Work with clinic Psychiatrist in a mutually agreed upon way to 
collaboratively prescribe
benzodiazepine medication to clinic patients.
7. Review Medicare patient charts, treatment plans for patients that 
have been evaluated by the
nurse practitioner. Meet with clinicians to review prescribed treatment.
